My name is Yamelly Pena and I have a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and I speak Spanish. I have worked with individuals and couples who struggle with depression, suicide attempts, eating disorders, self-esteem issues, anxiety, substance use, and relationship problems. I’m a professional dedicated to providing an empathetic and non-judgmental environment where you can open up your heart freely. I use a Person-Centered approach where client’s autonomy is respected and honored. I adhere to different therapeutic approaches, not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Psychodynamic Psychoterapy, Psychodrama, Family Systems and others, that best suit the client’s needs. I believe every client’s uniqueness deserves a tailored approach based on their life experiences, worldview, spirituality and need. My philosophy is that, learning to manage your emotions, thoughts and behaviors can lead to meaningful and healthy relationships; because I believe the best version of yourself is born each day.
