Francesca DeLuca

MA, Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern with the Florida Board

My name is Francesca DeLuca, and I am a therapist with Therapy Treatment Team. I graduated from Florida International University (FIU) in 2022 with a Master’s Degree of Science (MS) in Counseling and Education, specializing in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC), with an emphasis on children ranging from 4-25 years of age. Through my years at FIU, I developed my theoretical counseling approach: Child and Person-Centered Therapy (empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard) with a mix of Solution-Focused and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). I have spent over 14 years working with children ranging in age across many domains, including tutoring, teaching, researching, and clinical internships. As a result, I have obtained vast knowledge, including how to help format person-centered therapy in a more structured manner (A-CRA format). My preferred holistic approach with clients involves administering various assessments (happiness scale, functional analysis of behavior, prosocial functional analysis and goals, family sessions, depression scales, and/or anxiety scales, as well as personalized documents). The relationship between myself and the client is critical because a good therapeutic relationship is at the heart of successful therapy. I take the time required to get to know my clients, including each element that distinguishes them and identifies the goals they hope to achieve through our time together. I recognize that each client is unique and know that it is critical to understand the client’s perspective. I have extensive experience in play therapy (ages 4-9/9-11), having worked in a kindergarten classroom for more than five years, helping students with science, math, and introductory social skills as a young child assimilating into the school system and with peers. I look forward to helping new clients of all ages as I strive to enable clients to realize their potential, skills, and self-worth. I am here to help guide and be a part of the process and catalyst to allow them to get where they want to be. Goals can change over time, so being flexible and open is vital. I provide a non-judgmental, safe environment where clients can freely disclose their feelings and concerns.
