Carina Rivera

MA, Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Watching your child or teenager struggle with big emotions, behavioral changes, or painful experiences can make you feel helpless and overwhelmed. You don’t have to navigate these challenges alone, and your family doesn’t have to stay stuck in a stressful cycle.

My name is Carina Rivera, MA, LMHC, and I support children, adolescents, and young adults who are navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, substance use, and behavioral concerns. My experience includes empowering young people in a domestic violence shelter and developing therapy-based group curriculum. I work closely with both youth and their parents, building a collaborative partnership to support your child’s emotional growth and long-term well-being.

Because every young person’s journey is different, I meet each client where they are developmentally. I combine evidence-based practices with engaging play therapy techniques to help children express feelings, build self-esteem, and process difficult experiences through natural, age-appropriate creative play. My integrated approach also incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, trauma-focused care, person-centered therapy, and attachment-based interventions tailored to your child’s unique needs.
