Welcome. My name is Maria, and my role as a counselor is to create a safe and supportive environment for you to focus your efforts on improving your quality of life, and to assist you in finding what will work for you along the way. I provide counseling in English and Spanish to both individuals and couples in a nonjudgemental and culturally sensitive manner. My approach to counseling involves respect for your unique story and life experiences, and an emphasis on collaboration in exploring a path for healing that aligns with your values.
Some of my areas of experience include depression, anxiety, stress, relationship issues, behavioral issues, self-esteem, and trauma. I use an integrative approach to counseling in meeting your individual needs. I am trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and use a combination of CBT, Person-Centered, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
I believe that everyone is doing their best, and at the same time has the ability to improve their lives every day. Through a collaborative approach, I am committed to hearing you, working with you, and providing a safe space to help guide you in the direction of your goals.
