Adolescents | Adults | Individual
My name is Carmen Rodriguez and I have a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. As a counselor, I have worked extensively with individuals who have experienced domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking, substance abuse, and trauma. I also have experience working with diagnoses such as anxiety and depression. For the past four years, I have worked with adolescents and adults in both individual and group settings. My therapeutic focus is solution focused and trauma-focused CBT.
I believe that individuals who have a history of trauma often lose the connection they have with their inner resources rendering them at a loss on how to regain a good quality of life. By facing these traumas and looking at how they have impacted our lives we are able to gain an understanding of what we need to restore that balance for ourselves. I am passionate about the work I do and the clients I service. By providing my client’s with empathy, compassion, and respect they are able to find that piece of themselves that makes them feel whole again and they can begin the process of healing and living a full life. No matter how strong an individual may feel they are there is always a need to seek help for the things that become unmanageable. That does not make them weak, but rather, it demonstrates the commitment they have to themselves and to gain the quality of life they deserve.
