Zachary Piscitelli

Student Intern

Hello! My name is Zachary Piscitelli, and I am a graduate counseling intern currently pursuing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Forensic Studies from Florida Gulf Coast University, which deepened my interest in understanding how personal experiences, relationships, and environments shape behavior and overall well-being. I work with college students, couples, and individuals from the LGBTQ+ community who are navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, academic stress, and life transitions. As a nontraditional, first-generation college student and member of the LGBTQ+ community, I bring empathy, authenticity, and cultural awareness to my clinical work.

My therapeutic approach is warm, conversational, and grounding, with space for humor when appropriate. I integrate mindfulness, psychoeducation, client-centered care, and cognitive-behavioral strategies to support meaningful and sustainable growth. I believe clients are the experts in their own lives and that healing happens at each person’s own pace. I am especially interested in couples and family counseling, grounded in the belief that relationships and environments play a powerful role in shaping identity, decision-making, and emotional health. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel understood, empowered, and hopeful as they move forward.
