Hello! I’m Josh, and I recently became a registered mental health counseling intern in Florida. I recently obtained my master’s in clinical mental health counseling from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and am now pursuing a doctorate in clinical psychology.
Before entering the mental health field, I spent the past 12 years working in military aviation, first as an active-duty sailor in the United States Navy and then as a civilian contractor for the Navy and the Air Force. As a non-commissioned officer, I was often entrusted with the well-being of my junior sailors. My duties found me doing several things, from helping new sailors acclimate to their first command to sitting with some of them on some of the worst days of their lives. My experiences in the Navy helped me realize that I was best suited for work in mental health.

My clinical experience so far has seen me working with our nation’s first responders at an inpatient rehab facility, and my training has expanded to include work with military veterans, couples, and the LGBTQ+ community. I have a particular interest in helping individuals who have experienced religious trauma, spiritual abuse, or involvement in high-control groups.
My clinical approach centers on a person-centered collaborative approach. Drawing on an eclectic blend of evidence-based practices, I tailor treatment to the unique needs of each person I work with. So, let’s work together to help you build resilience, gain clarity, and foster meaningful change in your life.
