My name is Amanda Bethurem and I am a primary bilingual therapist at Counseling of Southwest Florida and Therapy Treatment Team. I have received my master’s in clinical mental health counseling from Florida Gulf Coast University. I speak Spanish and English while providing services in person or through Telehealth. As a counselor, I have worked with individuals with emotional regulation, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, substance use, grief, and trauma. I also have experience working with diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, Bi-Polar, PTSD, eating disorders, and Body Dysmorphic Disorder. I primarily work with individuals but also offer Substance Abuse group in Spanish. I specialize in working with teens, young adults, and adults.
I believe therapy is a collaborative process that utilizes evidence-based treatment while forming a therapeutic relationship to identify goals and objectives. My primary interventions for treatment come from CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Narrative Therapy, EFT (Emotion-Focused Therapy), and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy). I am passionate about this field and serving my clients while providing a warm and welcoming environment. My overall goal as a therapist is to tailor treatment for each of my clients and to assist them in reaching their goals, obtaining healing, and living a healthier life.
