Hello, my name is Ismary Lopez. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida. I recently received a certification as a Certified Trauma Professional which provides me with the tools necessary to aid individuals who have experienced trauma. I am currently working towards obtaining my Clinical Mental Health Counselor License and I am under the direct supervision of Dr. Warren Goldfarb, PhD, CASAC.
I have experience working with children, adolescents, families and adults enduring mental and behavioral health difficulties. In addition, I have experience creating and facilitating groups covering a myriad of topics related to Anxiety, Coping Skills, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Triggers, Boundaries, Stress Management, Identifying Strengths, and Types of Communication.
My areas of specialty include emotional and behavioral challenges in children and adolescents, parenting support, difficulty adjusting to new life situations, issues related to immigration, trauma, and mood disorders such as but not limited to depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder in children, adolescents, and adults.
I utilize multiple therapeutic modalities such as but not limited to: Therapeutic Play Techniques, Sandtray Techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. I received specific training in treating individuals who have experienced trauma and are displaying symptoms related to their trauma using different modalities such as TF-CBT and Narrative Therapy exercises. I strive to work together with my clients to create goals and provide them with the tools to optimize their inner strengths and skills they already possess in their life to achieve their goals. I comfortably provide therapy In English and Spanish.
