David

MD, CMHC

Hello, my name is David. I know from my own experience that reaching out for help when you are stuck, struggling, or isolated and suffering is hugely difficult. But that courageous move is the critical first step forward. What I can offer is a commitment to help, listen, not judge and along with you find a path to a measure of relief as well as greater meaning. I have some experience in working things out, overcoming turning against myself, learning and adapting yet being true to self. My professional experience previously has been in international development where the basic logic of challenge, doubt/struggle/confusion and growth – sometimes in ways one never expected – also applies. We can all benefit from building greater resilience and enhancing emotional intelligence. I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from FGCU and have worked with clients (individually as well as couples and in groups) in all walks of life facing a wide variety of life and mental health challenges. As for method, I am wed to none yet we can explore what resonates with you tapping the rich variety of practices from mindfulness to neuroscience, from processing emotions to behavior modification and beyond. I speak Spanish as well as English. What I do know is there is always a way to build relationships and tap purpose as well as heal and grow just as there is always access to a larger context or a wider perspective even in those difficult moments or interludes in life when we feel trapped in the noisy emptiness of our own minds.
